Biography
2008: played in 108 of 114 games for UNE... selected TCCC all-conference first team... ranked second in conference games in kills (2.78) and blocks (1.18) per game... was second on the team with a .246 attack percentage.
2007: was named TCCC Player of the Year as well as First Team All-TCCC... appeared in 67 games this year before becoming injured at the end of the season... led the team in kills with 253 and ranked third on the team in attack percentage with .252... led the team in blocks with 116... was twice named TCCC Player of the Week.
2006: voted honorable mention all-Commonwealth Coast Conference after totaling 261 kills and 98 blocks (56 solo) over 88 games played... an early season ankle injury hampered her early-season performance, but Toregas came on strong, racking up 10 or more kills in six of the final seven matches... finished sixth in the conference in kills per game (2.97) and third in blocks per game (1.11)... registered a team-high .197 hitting percentage.
High School: named District of Columbia Gatorade Player of the Year in 2000 while attending Georgetown Day High School.
Personal: daughter of Catherine and Costis Toregas... medical biology major... previously-attended the University of Maryland on a volleyball scholarship... does volunteer work for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
