Kate Wilmot '22 '23M

Former UNE softball student-athlete Kate Wilmot (LAT, ATC) will be back at her alma mater in 2024-25 as an Athletic Trainer.

Wilmot finished her bachelor's degree in 2022, and spent the 2022-23 academic year at Rice University as an athletic trainer with the [NCAA I FBS] football program. Then, with a UNE master's degree in hand, she worked during 2023-24 at the University of West Florida [NCAA II] as an athletic trainer with football and softball.

The Walpole, Mass. native played four seasons of softball from 2019-22. She appeared in 62 games for UNE, batting .294 with three home runs and nearly one-third of her hits going for extra bases. She also stepped into the circle to pitch 93 innings in 25 contests, logging a 7-7 record. As a senior, Wilmot was selected to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-Conference 1st Team at the designated player position.
