Matt Reid

After four seasons with the Nor'easters, Reid has been elevated to Associate Head Coach of the women's basketball program.

Previous Coaching Experience
Reid came to UNE after three seasons (2017-20) as varsity girls' head coach at Noble High School (Maine). The Knights won 23 games during his time, including a 10-9 record in 2018-19 for the first winning record in 10 years -- the program had a combined nine wins over the previous seven campaigns. Before Noble, Reid was the assistant coach of varsity boys' basketball at Cape Elizabeth High School for eight seasons (2009-2017), during which the team averaged 13 victories per year and went 3-3 in regional finals. He also worked as an assistant coach with the varsity girls’ basketball team at Cape Elizabeth, spanning 2005-2017.

Education
Reid graduated from the University of Southern Maine in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in English, and played men's golf for the Huskies. He completed a master's degree in education at USM in 2012, and holds a certification in exercise science and fitness instruction from the University of California-San Diego.

Reid is also employed with the University as an Admissions Counselor on the Biddeford Campus.
