Twombly transferred two UNE after two seasons (2016-17) playing at the University of New Haven [NCAA II], where he tallied one goal and four assists as a starter in more than half of 33 games played. With the Nor'easters (2018-19), he started every game in which he appeared (35) and accounted for three goals and eight assists. Twombly earned his bachelor's degree from UNE in applied exercise science in 2021.
