Personal: the son of Deb and Drew Loya, Jr.... majoring in public health... a Dean's List student... active with UNE's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee... his sister, Christina, played four years of lacrosse at Stetson University.

Prior to UNE: transferred from Central Connecticut State University... played junior ice hockey with the Middlesex Black Bears... graduated from Shepaug Valley High School (Conn.), where he was second team all-state in ice hockey as a sophomore and first team all-state as both a junior and senior... also the conference Player of the Year in ice hockey as a senior.
