Prior to UNE: graduated from IMG Academy in Florida, where he played two years of varsity basketball... played amateur basketball for the Turkish club team Darussafaka... was a nominee for the Turkish National Team.

Personal: his parents are Filiz and Murat Ozkan... is an athletic training major (pre-physical therapy).
