Previous Coaching Experience
Dean brought 16 years of collegiate experience to UNE at the start of the 2014-15 campaign. He was the 2013-14 assistant at Western Connecticut State University [NCAA III] after leading Elms College [NCAA III] to an 18-10 record with a conference title and a berth into the NCAA Championship in 2012-13. Prior to that, Dean was a 10-year (2002-12) assistant to current UNE head coach, Ed Silva, with the Blazers. He began his coaching career with four seasons (1998-02) as an assistant at Eastern Connecticut State University [NCAA III]; three of which were alongside Silva.

Competitive Experience
Dean was a key contributor for three years (1994-97) at Western Connecticut. He averaged 6.8 points, 3.3 assists, and 2.1 steals over 71 games, helping the Colonials go 57-23 during that time.
