Jason Mulligan

In just his first season, Mulligan orchestrated a turnaround few programs have enjoyed.  The Nor'easters won 15 games in 2007-08, 10 more than the previous season and the most since UNE merged with Westbrook College in 1996.  The Nor'easters tied for third in the conference regular-season standings with a 9-4 mark and dropped a hard-fought game to Western New England in the opening round of the TCCC Tournament.  UNE earned a berth into the ECAC New England Tournament, where they upset top-seeded Emerson College in the opening round en route to an appearance in the championship game.

A native of Highland, Ind., Mulligan came to UNE from Wabash College--an NCAA III institution in Crawfordsville, Ind.--where he had served as Men's Assistant Basketball Coach and Assistant Director of Athletics for six years.  Wabash owns a rich tradition of basketball success, having won an NCAA III national championship in 1982.

While at Wabash, Mulligan played a significant role in the overall operations of the men's basketball program including recruiting coordinator, defensive coach, scheduling, scouting, and summer camps.

A 2000 graduate of Olivet Nazarene University with a bachelor's degree in speech communication, he was a four-year member of the basketball team--a program that made four consecutive appearances at the NAIA Division I National Tournament and earned a berth in the 2000 national semifinal.  That same year Jason was awarded the team’s most improved player award.  He received his master of science degree in 2004.

Jason and his wife, Kara, have an infant daughter, Lily, and reside in Saco.
