Personal: his parents are Lisa and Anthony Abbatessa... majoring in sport and recreation management... his brother, Bruno, is entering his second season playing football at UMass Dartmouth... coaches his brother's Special Olympics football, basketball, and track teams.

Prior to UNE: played three years of varsity football at Danvers High School, where he was an Agganis All-Star... also participated in two seasons of varsity track, one of varsity lacrosse, and one of varsity baseball.
