Personal: his parents are Deanna and Brian Joy... majoring in elementary education, with minors in both special education and history... a Dean's List student and member of the CCC Academic All-Conference Team... his brother, Dominic, has completed one year of lacrosse at Saint Michael's College.

Prior to UNE: earned three varsity letters in football at Scarborough High School... selected first team all-state, first team all-conference on the offensive line, and second team all-conference on the defensive line... named as a the school's Fall Male Athlete of the Year.
