BIDDEFORD, Maine – The University of New England men's soccer team withstood a few late threats from the University of Southern Maine on Sunday afternoon at Blue Storm Stadium to come away with a 0-0 tie, remaining unbeaten through three games to start the season.
 
First-year goalkeeper Landon Dominski made three saves in the final five minutes to preserve the shutout, which was his second straight, having blanked Rivier on Friday. The Nor'easters (2-0-1) have allowed just one goal on the season.
 
USM goalkeeper Ryan Wargo faced just one shot on goal in his shutout effort.  
 
Southern Maine held a 9-1 advantage in shots during the second half, including a few high-percentage looks in the waning moments, but a save from Dominski in the 86th minute, plus two in the 87th minute kept the Huskies from escaping with a victory.
 
Another challenge awaits UNE on its home field, with No. 5 Bowdoin visiting Hazard Field at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
