BIDDEFORD, Maine -- University of New England Director of Athletics Heather Davis has announced the resignation of
Jovan Jordan-Whitter, who has accepted the position of head coach of the men's and women's tennis programs at Hampton University, an NCAA Division I institution in Norfolk, Va.
Hired in August 2024 to launch the Nor'easters' varsity tennis programs, Jordan-Whitter recruited in advance of UNE's first varsity seasons (Fall 2025 women; Spring 2026 men). The women posted a 12-7 record in 2025-26 and qualified for the Conference of New England (CNE) Tournament, while the men registered a 5-9 mark.Â
Prior to his time at UNE, Jordan-Whitter coached at University of Massachusetts Boston, as well as with the Bermuda National Tennis Teams.
"We would like to thank Jovan for his service to UNE," said Davis. "He played an instrumental role in the launch of our varsity tennis programs and leaves them well-positioned for success in the years to come. We wish him well at the next phase of his career."
A national search to fill the position is underway.
