Statistics

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Plymouth State University built an early lead and eventually rolled to a 15-6 non-conference triumph over the University of New England women's lacrosse team Saturday afternoon at Panther Field.

Morgan Cunningham led the Panthers (1-2) with four goals and one assist. Evelyn Goudreau, Claire Joyce and Sammy Murphy each netted three for PSU, who held a 9-4 lead at halftime before blanking UNE in the third quarter, 4-0, to begin closing in on a double-digit margin. Vail Carruthers scored two goals for the Nor'easters.

UNE earned a 14-10 advantage in draw controls, led by Ella Cloutier's five. Olivia Ferraro made 13 saves, while Caitlin Snow recorded six on the opposite end.

The Panthers opened a 3-0 lead before UNE put itself on the scoreboard with Carruthers' first of the afternoon. PSU responded with five straight, eventually taking a commanding 8-1 lead with 5:14 left in the second quarter. The five-goal halftime deficit was as close the Nor'easters were able to climb for the remainder of the game.

UNE returns home for its Conference of New England opener on Thursday, March 12, hosting Endicott College at 4 p.m.
