BIDDEFORD, Maine --
Emily Talbot recorded the second hat-trick in her last four games to power the University of New England to a 4-1 Conference of New England victory over Curry College on Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 7) at Barbara J. Hazard Field.
The lone goal of the first half came off the foot of Talbot, who collected a ball at midfield and raced in on the Curry defense before directing a shot inside the right post (

Gillian McGee was credited with an assist.
Talbot tallied the eventual game-winner 4:18 into the second half, placing the ball just inside the left side of the goal to beat Colonel goalkeeper Marie Cataldo, who had come out off the goal line (

Ari Veneto assisted Talbot on the goal.
UNE (7-4-0, 2-3-0 CNE) extended its advantage to 3-0 in the 56th minute when
Jill Hodgson found the right side the goal with a left-footed shot from the top of the box (

Lexy Brodeur set up Hodgson's seventh goal of the season, and Talbot had a secondary assist.
Talbot's third upped the margin to 4-0 in the 75th minute, with assists from Brodeur and
Charlotte Jessuck (

The Colonels (2-5-2, 0-3-0) avoided a shutout with a goal from Mia Schena in the 76th minute.
After four goals combined from Talbot and Hodgson, the Nor'easters have now received more than half (21 of 39) of their scoring total from that duo and McGee.
Haley Coombs and
Sam Kowalick combined to make three saves for UNE, which held an advantage in both shots (27-7) and corner kicks (6-2). Cataldo stopped 11 shots for Curry.
The Nor'easters have a key CNE match-up ahead when they host Endicott College on Saturday. Kickoff at Hazard Field is slated for noon.
