BIDDEFORD, Maine – The University of New England men's soccer team battled Nichols to a 0-0 tie in Saturday afternoon's Conference of New England matchup on Hazard Field.

Sean MacDonald made four saves for the Nor'easters (0-4-2, 0-1-1 CNE), including three in the game's first 28 minutes, to keep the Bison (0-4-2, 0-1-1 CNE) off the board. Nichols' keeper Derek Axon was called upon to make just two saves, both of which came in the first half.

Despite shots on goal favoring Nichols by a margin of 5-2, total shots sided with UNE, 8-7.

The Bison had the best chance of the day for either side in the 77th minute, but Brandon Machel redirected a shot in front of an otherwise-empty net to remain scoreless.

Prior to the game, UNE honored five members of its Class of 2026 as part of Senior Day.

The Nor'easters will wrap up their three-game homestand on Wednesday, Sept. 24 with a 6 p.m. meeting with Husson.
