BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Chelsea King scored for the second time in the game with less than 12 minutes remaining to nudge Roger Williams University in front during a 3-2 Conference of New England (CNE) result against the University of New England at Blue Bolt Field on Saturday afternoon (Sep. 20).
The Hawks (5-3, 2-0 CNE) had an early lead but fell behind in the 17th minute, and things stayed that way until the 35th, when Maddy Monahan bounced a ball through legs in the crease and found Grace Rocheleau at the back post for the equalizer. Then, in the 49th minute, it was Monahan with another centering feed, and after the path was disrupted by a defender, King put a quick stick into the mix and found her 11th goal of the year.
Greta Jennison came up with a trio of big saves in the moments that followed to keep the margin at one

King's first tally came from a rebound sequence in the 6th minute, after Jennison's first stop of the day. Eva Wood's initial try was denied but ended up settling with Rocheleau, who sent a ball back towards the cage that was tipped by Wood and batted home by King.
In the 11th minute, UNE's
Ella Reeves was fouled during a move to the net and the Nor'easters were awarded a penalty stroke for the third time in the last four contests/this season.
Makena Valentine made it count, once again, beating the keeper on the left to knot the score at 1-1.

Valentine struck for another less than six minutes later, on a penalty corner play, as
Shelly Tremblay slide a horizontal pass in front of Valentine for a blast to the right of the netminderÂ
