BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin shut down the University of New England to the tune of a 4-0 non-conference men's soccer victory on Tuesday night at Pickard Field.
Tyler Huck's two first-half goals, the first of which came in the sixth minute, provided the Polar Bears (1-0) with a comfortable lead by halftime of their season opener. Bowdoin tacked on an additional tally from Adam Prince in the 59th minute, and capped off the victory with Liam Ellis' goal in the 88th minute. Mateo Pacelli finished the game with two assists.
The Nor'easters (0-1-1) were peppered with 22 shots on goal – 11 evenly distributed in both halves – as goalkeeper
Sean MacDonald racked up 18 saves.
UNE returns home Saturday, Sept. 6 to host Southern Maine at 5 p.m. on Hazard Field.
