Mules close out 3-0 win over Nor'easters

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Colby found an early goal and tacked on two more in the second half to close out a 3-0 win over the University of New England women's soccer team on Tuesday evening at Hazard Field.
 
The Mules (3-1-1) were led by Abigail Jarvi, who scored each of their first two goals – both assisted by Ella Caraluzzi. Claire Walsh contributed the final tally in the 64th minute.
 
Jarvi's first, the lone goal of the first half, came in the 11th minute. Colby's lead was doubled when Jarvi struck again in the 54th.
 
The Mules claimed an 11-6 advantage in shots on goal as the Nor'easters (5-2) received eight saves from Haley Coombs. Starting goalkeeper Sadie Gardner and second-half substitute Talia Thompson combined for Colby's clean sheet.
 
The Nor'easters are in action on Hazard Field again on Saturday, Sept. 20, hosting Conference of New England foe Nichols at 3 p.m.
