UMass Boston shoots past UNE

BIDDEFORD, Maine – UMass Boston put up four first-half goals on its way to a 5-0 victory over the University of New England in Tuesday evening's non-conference men's soccer action at Hazard Field.
 
Felipe De Andrade, who scored twice for the Beacons (3-2-2) netted the first in just the second minute before John Aruda quickly doubled the visitors' lead in the sixth minute. UMass Boston found two more by the 23rd minute, including De Andrade's second, to take a commanding 4-0 lead.
 
Ryan Doherty's goal in the 74th minute represented the second half's lone tally.
 
Shots on goal heavily sided with the Beacons, 12-3, and total shots were 19-8 in their favor. UNE received seven saves from Dylan Morris, while Nolan McKenna recorded two for UMass Boston.
 
The Nor'easters' three-game homestand continues on Saturday, Sept. 20 when Nichols visits Hazard Field at noon for a Conference of New England matchup.
