Gulls top UNE in league opener

BEVERLY, Mass. -- Tori Swanson and Maddy Dengler each scored twice to help lead Endicott College to a 10-0 result against the University of New England in Conference of New England (CNE) field hockey action Saturday afternoon (Sep. 13) at North Field.

Swanson had goals two and four of the Gulls (3-1, 1-0 CNE), who led by five at the midway break. The hosts then racked up 16 shots and 11 penalty corners on the way to four tallies in the 3rd period, of which Dengler accounted for half.

Faith Minickene made seven stops to support the win for Endicott. For the Nor'easters (2-4, 0-1), Savanna Harvey and Greta Jennison split time and recorded three and 10 saves, respectively.

UNE is back at on Wednesday (6 p.m.) with a home match versus Husson University.
