AUGUSTA, Maine -- University of New England women's tennis squad improved to 3-0 in its inaugural season with a 5-2 victory over the University of Maine-Augusta on Thursday (Sep. 11) at the Kennebec Valley Tennis Association.
The Nor'easters captured the first two doubles matches to notch the match's first point, and then put the first three singles points on the board to seal the match.
In the doubles round,
Madeline Frank and
Nora Hill paired for a 6-2 triumph at #1, while
Sydney Pelletier and
Zoe Lambke won at #2 by the same score line.
UNE got to its 4-0 cushion with singles points from
Alyssa Fritschka at #4 (6-0, 6-0), Frank at #1 (6-4, 6-1), and Hill at #2 (6-0, 4-6, 6-0). Lambke put the finishing touches on the day with a 6-4, 6-4 result at #6 singles.
The Nor'easters will now prepare to open their Conference of New England (CNE) schedule on Tuesday at Gordon College.
