WENHAM, Mass. -- Gordon College opened the Conference of New England (CNE) portion of the women's tennis schedule with a 7-0 decision against the University of New England on Tuesday (Sep. 16) at the Brigham Athletic Complex.
The Fighting Scots (2-1, 1-0 CNE) yielded four games across three doubles matches to get out to a 1-0 overall lead, and did not drop a set in singles to sweep the result.
Zoe Lambke took a team-high five games from Gordon at #6 singles (3-6, 2-6).
Madeline Frank at #1 and
Sydney Pelletier at #5 battled deeper into their respective second sets to try and keep UNE alive, but came up on the short end of 6-3 scores.
The Nor'easters will continue their busy week on Thursday (3 p.m.), back at home against the University of Southern Maine.
