BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England women's lacrosse team scored six times in the third quarter on its way to an 18-8 victory over Gordon College in a Conference of New England tilt played Tuesday (Apr. 15) at Blue Bolt Field.

Morgan White scored all four of her goals in the pivotal third frame to help fuel UNE's surge. Emma Collingwood and Halle Huizenga had the other tallies, as the Nor'easters outscored Gordon 6-2 in the period.

White's four-goal performance paced UNE, while Chloe Ryan and Barrie Guertin each scored three times. Guertin's final goal in the closing seconds marked the 100th point of her career. Huizenga and Molly Henderson were also repeat scorers for the Nor'easters (6-7-1, 4-2-1 CNE).

Kaitlynn Mini led Gordon (1-13, 0-7) with four goals. Jocelyn Noyes and Caroline Piorkowski netted a pair apiece. Kayla Davidson totaled 13 stops for the Fighting Scots.

White, Guertin and Sydney Balotin combined for 14 draw controls for the Nor'easters. Balotin and Ryan led the squad with three caused turnovers, while Julia Baldwin and Kaylee Lucas paced the home team with three ground balls apiece. Rookie goalkeeper Elise Latham recorded seven saves to earn her first collegiate win.

The contest was held up for approximately 45 minutes in the second quarter due to a lightning delay.

UNE returns to action Saturday with a 3 p.m. CNE road contest at Roger Williams University.
