Statistics

BALTIMORE – Goucher surrendered the first goal of the game before rattling off a 10-0 run on its way to a 10-2 victory over the University of New England in Monday night's non-conference men's lacrosse matchup at Beldon Field.

Two UNE goals, the first by Finn McCoy and the last from Stephen Fogarty, came on either end the Gophers' dominant stretch, in which Goucher (6-2) blanked the Nor'easters (4-4) in both the second and third quarters.

Milan Temple scored a game-high three goals, with two of those coming consecutively in the third quarter. Jack Smith made eight saves while collecting a game-best six ground balls for the Gophers, who claimed a 30-27 edge in the category.

Three different UNE players picked up five groundballs, including Evan Hazard, who racked up 16 saves on the evening.

Temple's first goal of the game answered McCoy's game-opening tally before back-to-back Tyler May scores gave Goucher a 3-1 lead at the end of the first quarter. After only one goal was scored in the second, the Gophers tacked on three in both the third and fourth quarters.

UNE closes its road trip on Thursday, March 20, traveling to Aston, Pennsylvania to face Neumann at 4 p.m.
