WALTHAM, Mass. – Brandeis University led wire-to-wire, opening up a 20-point lead in the first half before chalking up an 89-60 non-conference victory over the University of New England men's basketball team Wednesday night inside Red Auerbach Arena.

Alex Zakheim scored a game-high 20 points for the Judges (5-4), who shot better than 50 percent from the field (21-for-40) during the first half and buried nine 3-pointers to build an early lead. Elias Rodl was key in that explosive first-half effort, scoring 14 of his 19 total points during the opening 20 minutes as Brandeis rolled to a 54-35 halftime lead.

Jayden Thornton led UNE (5-6) with 14 points and
Adam Lux followed with 13.
Kha Cao Ra James grabbed 10 rebounds – outdone only by Rodl, who racked up a game-high 11 to complete his double-double.

The Judges dominated the glass with a 56-32 edge in the rebounding column, leading to an 18-4 advantage in second-chance points.
