Statistics

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott erupted for 20 points in the second quarter of Saturday's Conference of New England matchup at Hempstead Stadium to pull away from the University of New England football team and eventually chalk up a 53-14 victory.

In front of a homecoming crowd of more than 5,000, the Gulls (4-1, 2-0) rushed for 342 yards and five touchdowns, powered by 100-yard games from both Markys Bridgewater and Bryan Ferreira. On the defensive side, TJ Lett came away with two interceptions.

UNE (4-1, 1-1) held the four-time defending CNE champions scoreless on their first two drives, but eventually succumbed to a high-flying Gulls offense with three of the next four Endicott drives ending with touchdowns. Having led 27-0 at halftime, the Gulls marched to the endzone on four straight possessions during the second half to stretch their lead as large as 47-6 early in the fourth quarter.

Nathan Delgado, who led UNE's ground game with 67 yards on 13 carries, put up the Nor'easters' first points midway through the third quarter. Chris Lang connected with Berto Zepeda for a 29-yard touchdown pass in the fourth. Lang finished the day 18-of-38 with 182 yards through the air with one touchdown and two picks.

Spencer Sherck was UNE's leading tackler for a second straight game, racking up nine against Endicott. Kese Higgins recorded six tackles, including a strip-sack in the second quarter.

Following a bye week, the Nor'easters' two-game road stretch continues Friday, Oct. 17 with a visit to Maine Maritime. Kickoff in Castine, Maine is set for 6 p.m.
