BIDDEFORD, Maine – Gordon College defeated the University of New England men's soccer team, 3-0, in the Nor'easters' season finale on Tuesday night at Hazard Field.
 
UNE's season comes to an end with an overall record of 2-11-3, along with an 0-8-1 Conference of New England mark.
 
The Fighting Scots (9-7-2, 6-4) scored in the 15th minute, but were kept within a one-goal margin for most of the evening before putting up two goals in the game's final 11 minutes. Sylver Godines was responsible for the opening tally, and Santiago Hernandez scored in the 80th minute before Max Cardone capped it off in the 89th.
 
Starting goalkeeper Riley Calemmo made five saves for Gordon, and was relieved by Isaiah Diaz, who stopped two UNE shots in the final 10 minutes to preserve the shutout. 
Sean MacDonald made three saves for the Nor'easters.
 
UNE held a slight advantage in shots on goal, 7-6, but were bested 18-12 in total shots. The Fighting Scots had one more corner kick (4-3).
