LEWISTON, Maine – Bates scored four goals in the final 14 minutes of Tuesday night's game to defeat the University of New England women's soccer team by a final tally of 5-0.
The Bobcats (3-0-1) netted their first goal in the 21st minute and didn't find the back of the net again until the 77th minute, when they scored their first of four goals in a 12-minute span. Abby Alter accounted for two scores during that barrage, including the game's final goal in the 89th minute.
Anna Flaherty made four saves for the Nor'easters (4-3-0), who only mustered two shots on goal against a stingy Bates defense, both of which were stopped by Ruby Reimann, who logged over 82 minutes.
The Nor'easters are on the road once again on Friday, Sept. 20, opening conference play at Nichols. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
