DUDLEY, Mass. --
Morgan White struck for three goals during the 3rd period as the University of New England netted half of its total in 14-10 victory over Nichols College in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's lacrosse match at Vendetti Field on Saturday afternoon (Apr. 6).
Despite racing out to a 3-0 lead, the Nor'easters (5-6, 3-1 CCC) found themselves behind on two occasions late in the first half. After the initial goal coming out of the midway break went for the hosts (7-6), UNE rattled off seven of the next nine goals to take a 13-9 cushion into the final 15 minutes.
Paige DeVries deposited the go-ahead score (8-7) in the latter portion of the frame.
White added her fifth tally to seal things with 4:00 remaining in the 4th. She also corralled 11 of the game's draw controls.
Sydney Balotin registered three goals, two assists, and two caused turnovers in support, while
Abby McHallam notched a hat trick, as well.
Meagan Donovan went for a goal and two assists, and
Elizabeth Guertin picked up a game-high five ground balls.
Jenna Trafford backstopped UNE's fifth win in the last six outings with 10 saves.
For the Bison (10-3, 1-2), Hadley Houghton posted three goals and nine draws. Emma Patton added two goals and an assist. Briar Slattery made seven stops over 45 minutes of relief in goal.
The Nor'easters return home to face Endicott College on Wednesday (7 p.m.).
