BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Bates College scored eight of the first nine goals en route to a 20-8 decision against the University of New England in women's lacrosse action Wednesday afternoon (Mar. 6) at Blue Bolt Field.
The Bobcats (2-2) had a balanced attack that received three goals apiece from Caroline Taggart and Hollis Hale. Caroline Keating netted a pair of goals to go with five draw controls, and Sadie O'Neil supplied three draws and three caused turnovers on top of one goal. Lauren Wong, Lucy Taylor, and Julia Roelofs joined Keating with two scores, and Peyton Burg added two assists. Starting goalie Avery Lehman made one stop in 15 minutes of work, before Raegan White and Abigail Ziehl each put up four saves the rest of the way.
For the Nor'easters (0-4),
Sydney Balotin notched four goals, three caused turnovers, and three draws.
Morgan White racked up a game-best 11 draw controls, and
Paige DeVries added a team-high three ground balls.

Micaela Jacobs, and
Molly Henderson tallied the other goals for the hosts. On the other end of the field,
Jenna Trafford and
Emma Thompson split time and combined for three saves.
UNE now prepares for a trip West to Mesa, Arizona for games on Monday and Tuesday versus Ohio Northern University and the University of Northwestern (Minn.).
