BIDDEFORD, Maine – After conceding a goal in just the second minute, a trio of unanswered scores powered Gordon College to a 3-1 win over second-seeded University of New England in the semifinals of the 2024 Conference of New England (CNE) Women's Soccer Championship on Tuesday (Nov. 5) at Barbara J. Hazard Field.

With the win, No. 3 seed Gordon (10-4-5) advances to face top-seeded Hartford in Saturday's final. The Fighting Scots previously defeated No. 6 seed Roger Williams, 3-1, in the championship's opening round to punch their ticket to Tuesday's semifinal.

Conference of New England third-teamer Kylie Curtin scored her sixth goal of the season less than two minutes into the game, heading a centering pass by fellow all-conference honoree Tori Keyes to put the Nor'easters (13-6-1) on top early. [Watch]

The Fighting Scots answered shortly before halftime with Ava Forbes-Smith's penalty kick during the 39th minute. Two more Gordon goals in the second half, both scored by Eowyn Lapp, including the go-ahead tally in the 51st minute, sunk UNE.

Gordon's Emily Bengtson made eight saves, while the seven stops by UNE's Haley Coombs marked a season high for the first-year.
