Endicott completes weekend sweep of #10 UNE

Statistics

BEVERLY, Mass. -- Endicott College scored three times in the opening 15 minutes to start towards an 8-1 Conference of New England (CNE) men's ice hockey decision against No.10 University of New England on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 16) at Bourque Arena.

After snagging an overtime result on the road on Friday, the Gulls backed up that effort to improve to 3-2 overall and 3-1 in league action. The Nor'easters slip to 3-2 in the early-going of the season, and 2-2 in CNE outings.

Andrew Kurapov and Payton Miller each had a pair of goals for EC, two of the five players with multiple points. Atticus Kelly logged 52 minutes between the pipes to earn the goaltending win, making 25 saves.

Just 62 seconds after Kurapov made it 3-0 during the initial session, UNE got one back off the stick of Nathan Chickering, with an assist to Jacob Pellerin.

However, a few minutes into the 2nd, Kurapov began what turned out to be a four-goal frame; the last two scores came in the final 83 seconds of the middle stanza.

Joey Stanizzi made 21 saves for the Nor'easters in 39 minutes, before giving way to Stefan Carney, who totaled 15 by the closing buzzer.

UNE will look to rebound against Suffolk University next weekend (7 p.m. Friday at the Forum).
