Statistics

BIDDEFORD, Maine – A gritty performance by the University of New England men's soccer team had the Nor'easters looking poised to hand Endicott its first Conference of New England loss, but two late goals by the Gulls lifted the visitors to a 2-1 victory on Tuesday night at Hazard Field.

UNE (5-8-5, 2-5-2 CNE) took a 1-0 lead into the 84th minute thanks to Bruno Correia's early second-half goal and strong goalkeeping from Sean McCarthy, but Endicott (12-4-2, 9-0-0 CNE) finally broke through with Fisher Mills' equalizer. In the 90th minute, with 48 seconds remaining in the game, it was another Mills goal that stood as the game winner.

McCarthy made 11 saves, one shy of matching his career high, against a strong Endicott attack that leads the conference in scoring.

Correia scored his sixth goal of the season in the 49th minute, one-timing a pass from Haukur Karlsson in the box to hand the Nor'easters a 1-0 lead (Watch). UNE was unable to put a shot on goal in the game's final seven minutes after Endicott drew even.

Tuesday's loss marked the end of UNE's 2024 campaign.
