BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England field hockey team notched four goals during the initial nine minutes of the 2nd quarter to seize control of Tuesday's (Oct. 23) contest with Colby-Sawyer College on the way to a 5-0 victory at Blue Bolt Field.
After a scoreless 1st frame with UNE (7-9) holding a 6-1 edge in shots and 4-0 in penalty corners,
Laney LeBlanc broke the seal with her team-leading sixth score of the year just 46 seconds into the 2nd period.

Shelly Tremblay doubled the margin in the 20th minute by converting a penalty stroke

Olivia Dwyer got on the board by batting home a partial-settled deflection off the stick of
McKenzie Berry [Watch]. In the 24th minute, Dwyer and Berry reconnected to make it 4-0, with Berry corralling a mid-air rebound and Dwyer driving a short-hop through the five-hole

Dawn DeWeese-Moss turned in three saves for the Nor'easter shutout, which also got head coach
Danielle Collins to 150 career wins over her 236 games on the UNE sideline.
For the Chargers (11-5), who were out-shot (29-7) and out-cornered (12-4), Ashlee Blashock recorded 11 saves.
UNE heads to Roger Williams University for a key Conference of New England (CNE) showdown on Saturday.
