Roger Williams slows down UNE

Statistics

BRISTOL, R.I. -- Elizabeth Duquette scored twice to lead Roger Williams University past the University of New England, 3-0, in Conference of New England (CNE) field hockey action Saturday (Oct. 26) at Bayside Field.

Duquette's first tally of the day occurred just 31 seconds into the contest off a feed from Chelsea King. A 35th-minute penalty stroke made it 2-0, and Maddy Monahan capped things for the Hawks in the 55th minute.

Jill Haudenshield made three saves in the clean sheet for RWU (14-5), which crosses the league finish line at 4-1 in CNE outings. The Hawks will have to wait one week to find out what that means for the postseason seeding, with Endicott College (4-0 CNE) and Western New England University (3-1) still having a meeting on the schedule.

For the Nor'easters (7-10, 1-3), Dawn DeWeese-Moss totaled seven stops.

Next up for UNE will be a visit to No.7 Babson College on Tuesday, and then the regular-season finale on Saturday back at home versus Gordon College (0-4 CNE).
