Nor'easters blitz Husson for sixth consecutive win

Statistics

BANGOR, Maine -- For the third time in as many matches, the University of New England women's volleyball team posted a season-best attacking percentage, this time on the way to 3-0 triumph (25-12, 25-15, 25-10) over Husson University on Tuesday (Oct. 15) at Newman Gymnasium.

The Nor'easters connected at a .409 clip with only eight hitting errors -- their lowest of the year in that category. The visitors also added 12 service aces, which, in three sets, further improves the squad's aces per set average from the 3.53 that entered the day ranked second in Division III.

UNE now stands with a record of 15-3, equaling the 2019 group for the most in a campaign since the program won 16 in 2012.

Leading the balanced offense were Hannah Nowell, Kailyn Reilly, and Ellijah Hanley with a combined 22 kills (8, 7, 7). Reilly, who shared the team high of 10.5 points with Nowell, smacked down seven winners on 10 swings (.700) and had a hand in four blocks (1 solo). Hanley was also highly efficient, hitting .500 on the night. Kassidy Bradshaw, who tacked on three aces and three kills in three attempts, accounted for 28 assists.

Kelsey Bradshaw guided the defensive effort with 11 digs, while supplying three aces. Viktoria Pavlyuk contributed eight digs, helping UNE hold the Eagles to a negative hitting rate (-.014).

Husson (5-11) received six kills out of Jenna Preskorn and 13 assists from Alyvia McIntrye.

The Nor'easters begin a three-game stretch of Conference of New England (CNE) play on Saturday at Western New England University.
