BIDDEFORD, Maine – Roger Williams picked up a 6-0 victory over the University of New England men's soccer team on Saturday afternoon at Hazard Field behind three goals in the first nine minutes of the game, and three second-half tallies.
The six Roger Williams goals came from six different scorers. Tyler Jastrub led the Hawks (7-6-1, 2-2-0 CNE) with a goal and two assists, while Tommy Bowen and John Fogarty both notched a goal and an assist. Cain Hogan and Eliot Panaccione combined for the shutout, and Hogan stopped each of UNE's three shots on goal.
The Nor'easters (4-6-3, 1-3-0) quickly found themselves trailing just 62 seconds into the match, and Roger Williams doubled that lead 24 seconds later. Fogarty tacked on a third in the ninth minute to cap off the Hawks' early barrage.
Second-half Hawk tallies came in the 58th, the 68th, and the 87th minutes.
Triston O'Hagan totaled five saves for the hosts.
UNE is set to travel to Wentworth on Tuesday, Oct. 15 for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
