BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The No.9 University of New England men's ice hockey team dialed up a 4-1 victory over Colby College on Tuesday night (Jan. 9) at the Harold Alfond Forum.
The Nor'easters (10-2-2) have not lost since November 10, marking the fifth time in program history that an unbeaten run has reached double digits. In seven of these 10 contests, UNE has yielded just one goal; the squad entered the day with the nation's sixth-rated scoring defense (1.85).
All four goals for the Nor'easters came in a 20-minute span across the first two periods, kicked off by
Garrett Devine roofing one from the edge of the right circle with 7:12 gone in the 1st frame

Dominic Murphy collected the rebound off his own shot on the left side and passed it up to
Anthony Cinato, who waited for the opening to hit Devine. The five goals for Devine this season have all come in the last six outings.
Cinato made it 2-0 a little more than seven minutes later with a nifty finish in transition

Logan DiScanio and Murphy clearing the zone. Cinato now has seven points in his last six games, and Murphy has six over the last five.
The Mules (3-6-2) got on the board with a power-play goal from Bobby Landry 2:08 into the 2nd stanza, but that margin held only 19 seconds before UNE punched another one home.
Ryan Kuzmich exited the zone with a wall-to-wall pass to
Anthony Sciucco, who crossed the blue line and delivered it to a trailing
Kevin O'Keefe for a quick wrister under the bar.

Back in the lineup for the first time in over a month,
Jayden Price rejoined the team-lead for goals with his fifth of the year at the 7:09 mark of the middle period, making the lead three. Coming off the left wall during a power play, Sciucco found
Chip Hamlett with room at the top to fire one at the cage, and Price tipped it around Colby netminder Andy Beran for the tally.

Aided by three chances with an extra skater, the visitors had a 20-7 edge in shot attempts in the 3rd frame (11-4 on target), but could not solve
Billy Girard IV again. The UNE goalie logged 27 stops, including a strong denial of a shorthanded breakaway bid early in the 3rd
[Watch].
Jacob Pellerin and
Will Spitzer both contributed to the defensive effort with three blocked shots.
Beran posted 25 saves for Colby, which received three blocks out of the Griffin Grise.
The Nor'easters have a single Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) match this weekend, heading to Suffolk University on Friday.
