BRUNSWICK, Maine – Felipe Rueda Duran scored four goals and assisted on another as #6 Bowdoin College defeated the University of New England men's soccer team, 5-1, on Tuesday evening at Pickard Field.
Rueda Duran found Tyler Huck for the first Polar Bears goal in the 3
rd minute. Just over a minute later he scored his first of the game with help from Carlton Steinberg. Huck returned the favor as Bowdoin went up 3-0 in the 15th minute on another goal by Rueda Duran.
Gavin Mason put the Nor'easters on the board with an unassisted score in the 34
th minute, marking the first time since 1996 that UNE scored against the Polar Bears. Rueda Duran scored in the 56
th and 62
nd minute to put the game out of reach, as Huck added another assist.
Triston O'Hagan made five saves in goal for UNE.
The Nor'easters return home to Hazard Field on Saturday at 3 p.m. against Southern Maine.
