Athletics Department Awards History
BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England Athletics Department held its annual awards ceremony at the Harold Alfond Forum on Monday night (May 8), celebrating the year in competition, in the classroom, and in the community. The following were among the honorees for the 2022-23 academic year:
Department Awards:
Female Athlete of the Year: Keagan Dunbar, basketball / lacrosse
Male Athlete of the Year: Alex Sheehy, ice hockey
Female Rookie of the Year: Shelly Tremblay, field hockey
Male Rookie of the Year: Jayden Price, ice hockey
James A. Beaudry Award: Mackenzie Burke, women's rugby / basketball
Champion of Equity & Inclusion Award: Salma Bezzat, women's rugby
Female Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Mackenzie Burke, women's rugby / basketball
Female Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Kelsee Gladu, cross country / track & field
Male Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Marcus Costa, golf
