UNE out-hit RWU by one in each contest, leaving
Makenzy Herron and

Roger Williams jumped out of the gate in the bottom of the 1st inning in
GAME 1 (RWU 4-3)Â with four runs, including three with two outs. Taylor Howell, Kayleigh O'Connor, and Jamie Wells had run-scoring hits after a leadoff double by Isabelle Rosado.
The Nor'easters immediately split the difference (4-2) in the 2nd. Back-to-back doubles from
Grace Tutt and
Megan Chamberlain started the frame, before a two-out single by Dumont.Â
UNE left the bases loaded in the 5th but then got one closer in the 6th (4-3) with hit contributions from
Abby Walsh and Dumont.
Abby Miner and Tutt kicked off the 7th with singles, but the visitors again wound up stranding three on the bases.
Taylor Myers and Natalie Lundari combined for the win and save in the circle for the Hawks. Wells and Kelsey Burr each had two hits.
Tutt topped all players with three hits, while Chamberlain and Miner joined Dumont with two apiece.
Kara MacDonald fanned four against zero walks in the UNE circle.
With a hit in the top of the 1st frame in
GAME 2 (RWU 3-1), Herron (3-for-3) was the only baserunner until the bottom of the 3rd when the Hawks registered a two-out single. Herron doubled to start the 4th, and a hit-by-pitch followed, but the next three were retired by RWU hurler Raegen Germano.
The hosts plated all of their three runs in the last half of the 5th with three hits and an error, capped by a two-out double from Rosado that scored a pair.
Herron doubled again to begin the UNE 6th but ended up stuck at third. In the last chance for the Nor'easters, a two-out double by Dumont knocked in
Lindsay Joyal to get one run on the board.
Germano struck out nine and did not issue a free pass on the way to the win for Roger Williams. On the other side,
Mia Micucci recorded five strikeouts without a walk through five innings of work, surrendering just four hits and one earned run.
Mackenzie Susko worked a quick bottom of the 6th with the aid of a 6-4-3 double-play to clean up a one-out error.
