BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Trinity College received second-period goals from Claire Kennedy and Lillian Cassidy to break open a 1-1 game on its way to a 4-1 non-conference women's ice hockey victory over the University of New England on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 25) at the Harold Alfond Forum.

Winning for the second consecutive outing, the Bantams evened their record at 2-2, while the Nor'easters dropped back to 4-3-2.

The Bantams had opened the scoring midway through the first period when Kehoe found Martina Exnerova skating down the slot for a one-timer just inside the right post. Jamie DuPont tied the game at 1-1 at 8:27 of the second with a one-timer from the low slot [Watch]. Mia LaPlante found DuPont from the boards just to the right of the cage. Keely Kasputis was credited with a secondary assist on the play.

Trinity grabbed the lead for good at 14:47 of the frame when Kennedy potted home a slap shot from just inside the blue line for her second career goal. Emma Robertson had won a face-off from the right circle just seconds earlier to set-up the tally.

Trinity would double its advantage three minutes later on Cassidy's top-shelf wrist shot from close range. Exnerova and Jelani Adorno had assists on the goal.

Emma Robertson added a power-play goal late in the final stanza to complete the scoring for the visitors.

Hannah Leclair needed just eight saves to record the win in goal for Trinity, which held a commanding 48-9 margin in shots on goal.

Kaleigh Laurendeau stopped a career-best 44 shots for the Nor'easters, who return to action next Friday (Dec. 1) at home versus Suffolk University.
