MILTON, Mass. -- The University of New England Nor'easters scored three goals over the final 9:32 of the second period to overcome a 1-0 deficit on their way to a 4-1 Commonwealth Coast Conference women's ice hockey victory over Curry College Friday evening (Nov. 10) at the Canton Ice House.
After Julia Small scored in the opening frame to give the hosts a 1-0 advantage,
Piper Desorcie notched back-to-back tallies to give the Nor'easters the lead for good. Desorcie's first marker midway through the period came on the power play and was assisted by
Danielle McCarthy. Desorcie's game-winner 2:13 later was assisted by McCarthy and
Adria Tebo.
Mackenzie O'Leary struck for her first collegiate score at 15:15 to push the lead to 3-1.
Jamie Ryan assisted on the power-play goal.
Eliana Kane added an unassisted goal in the third period to complete the scoring.Â
Delanie Corcoran made 22 saves for the Nor'easters (3-2-0, 2-1-0 CCC), while Soleil Archambeault had 26 for Curry (2-3-0, 0-1-0).
The two teams square off again tomorrow at the Harold Alfond Forum in Biddeford. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 p.m.
