BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. – Massachusetts Maritime Academy scored two second-half goals to come away with a 2-0 victory over the University of New England in a men's soccer matchup on Tuesday night.
After a scoreless first half which saw each team take seven shots and two on-goal, the Buccaneers pulled ahead in the 55
th minute of action. Ryan Soughou found the back of the net for MMA with an assist from Brody Calvert.
PJ Cullivan connected with Jack Turmel for a goal in the 85
th minute to extend the lead for the hosts.
MMA outshot the Nor'easters 13-5 in the second half and held a 20-12 advantage on the night.
Sean McCarthy had four saves in the loss for UNE. Kaden Winter earned the victory in net with four saves.
UNE is back at Hazard Field on Saturday against the University of Hartford at 1 p.m.
