BEVERLY, Mass. -- Conor Rooney netted a goal in each half to help give host Endicott College a 3-0 Commonwealth Coast Conference men's soccer win over the University of New England in the regular-season finale Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 24) at Hempstead Stadium.

The victory moved the Gulls over the .500 mark in conference play to 4-3-1 and improved their overall record to 8-6-4. They will open play in the CCC Championship on Saturday, with an opponent and site to be announced.

The match remained scoreless until the 39th minute when Rooney converted a pass from Fisher Mills for his third tally of the season.

Endicott would double its advantage early in the second when Mills once again set-up a Gull goal -- this time it was Cole Fergusson putting the finishing touch on the play. Rooney would add another insurance goal in the 76th minute.

The Gulls held commanding leads in shots (23-3) and corner kicks (10-0). Kevin Pelletier played the opening 65:17 in goal for Endicott to record the win. Brett Roy finished up for the Gulls.

Sean McCarthy and Sean MacDonald shared time in goal and combined for 11 stops for the Nor'easters (1-12-5, 0-6-2 CCC).
