BIDDEFORD, Maine – Piper Desorcie scored two goals in the final minutes as the University of New England women's ice hockey team pulled out a 2-2 tie with Bowdoin College on Tuesday night at the Harold Alfond Forum.

Carolyn Curley found its way into the crease and Desorcie stuffed it home to cut the deficit in half with 1:59 to play [

UNE pulled the goaltender to gain an extra skater with just over a minute remaining. Remillard fed it
Abbi Charvat near the corner and Charvat put a shot on net from a tough angle. Desorcie was able to gain control and push it through with 20.1 left to tie the game. [

The Nor'easters carried momentum into overtime and nearly put the game away.
Avery Lutrzykowski had a breakaway attempt early in the extra frame but was blocked by Bowdoin goaltender Meagan Miranda [

Maeve Crehan also had a near chance at the game-winner while falling down, but it narrowly missed. [

Bowdoin (7-9-1) scored its first goal of the night with 4:02 to go in the first period. Ali Dougal gained control of a turnover by UNE in its defensive zone and she found Kiley Briand for a score. After a scoreless second, Anyi Sun extended the advantage with goal with 8:49 to play in regulation. Emma Merrill and Peyton Mulhern assisted on the tally.
The Polar Bears held a 46-28 advantage in shots on the night.
Delanie Corcoran made 44 saves, including 15 in each of the final two periods to help UNE to the draw. Miranda had 26 saves on the night.
UNE is back in action on February 3 at home in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup against Suffolk at 7 p.m.
