Clark edges UNE with second half goal 1-0

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Clark University picked up a road victory over the University of New England in men's soccer action at Barbara J. Hazard Field on Wednesday night.
 
The first half was scoreless with neither team taking many chances. The Cougars outshot the Nor'easters 4-1 on goal in the opening period.
 
In the 50th minute, Mauro Perez Colon passed ahead to Tyler Manley on the right side of the box. Manley dribbled past a UNE defender and scored to the far left post for the lone goal of the game.
 
Shots on the night favored the Cougars 17-5 overall and 10-1 on goal.
 
Sean McCarthy had nine saves in the loss for UNE. Diego Marin stopped the only shot he faced to earn the clean sheet.
 
The Nor'easters visits Salve Regina for a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) contest on Saturday at 1 p.m.
