LEWISTON, Maine – Charlotte Jones scored in the 88th minute to lift the Bates College women's soccer team over the University of New England in non-conference action on Tuesday evening.
UNE (4-3) took a 1-0 lead soon after the opening whistle as
Bella Reil stole the ball from a Bates defender 25-yards out and scored to the lower left corner in the 4th minute.
The cushion stood until the 69th minute when Elizabeth Patrick put the Bobcats on the board with a blast from 20 yards out. Jones headed in a corner off the foot of Anna Masumoto for the late game-winner.
Ruby Reimann earned the victory in net for Bates (3-2), holding UNE scoreless in the second half.
Ariel Martin made 10 saves in the loss for the Nor'easters.
UNE returns to the field on Saturday at Salve Regina at 12 p.m.
