DUDLEY, Mass. --
Bailey Lynch and
Micaela Jacobs each scored twice to fuel the University of New England in a 6-0 victory against Nichols College as the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) field hockey schedule began Saturday evening (Sep. 17) at Vendetti Field.
The Nor'easters (2-4, 1-0 CCC) dominated the action from start-to-finish, amassing a 28-2 advantage in shots and 10-1 in penalty corners. Just past six minutes gone in the 1st period, Lynch cashed in both of her tallies in a span of 3:31. Jacobs' first came in the middle, off a feed from
Sarah Padellaro.
Jacobs from
Grace Bazin in the 2nd made it 4-0 at the half. Later, in the 4th, Jacobs moved her game point total to five with an assist on aÂ
Madi Robito goal, and then Bazin found the back of the cage to cap the performance.
Lindsay Pych recorded UNE's only save during the initial 30 minutes, before
Dawn DeWeese-Moss finished off the shutout. The Nor'easters have little time to rest, as No.5 Trinity College visits on Sunday (12:30 p.m.).
For the Bison (4-3, 0-1 CCC), Megan Fuchs and Sophia Venable combined evenly for 15 saves.
