Curry gets past UNE in season finale, 15-6

MILTON, Mass. – Tim Sullivan scored eight goals for the Curry College men's lacrosse team in a 15-6 victory over the University of New England in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Katz Field on Wednesday evening.
 
The victory secured the #7 seed in the CCC Championship for Curry who enter the tournament with a record of 5-11 overall and 2-6 in conference play. UNE closes the season at 5-12 overall and 1-7 in the CCC.
 
Sullivan scored three times in the first quarter as the Colonels built a 5-0 lead. Down 6-0 in the second quarter, Jack Martin and Zach Brydalski put the Nor'easters on the board. Stephen Stackhouse scored to give Curry a 7-2 lead at halftime.
 
The Colonels extended their advantage to 9-2 as Sullivan put in two goals to begin the second half. Andrew Lawrence connected with Ryan Hazard for a goal at the 4:12 mark of the third.
 
Curry led by as many as 11 at 15-4 with 10:00 minutes to play. Kyle Kennedy and Hazard scored the final two goals of the game for UNE.
 
Hazard scored twice and had an assist while, Lawrence added a goal and three assists to pace the Nor'easter offense.
 
Evan Falandys earned the victory in net for Curry with 13 saves. Matt Deyette made 18 stops in the loss for UNE.
